The Stewardship & Sustainability Committee guides sustainable practices at the Nature Preserve Foundation. They focus on caring for natural spaces, promoting responsible resource use, and building resilient ecosystems to keep the Watershed Nature Center healthy for both wildlife and the community.
Here are tips for enjoying our events while caring for the environment.
Visitors
- Bring reusable bags, water bottles, and coffee thermoses
- Walk, bike, or carpool to events when you can
- Join our free community bike ride to the Watershed for the Earth Day Festival
- Participate in on-site composting
- Take photos of flyers and other information you want to keep
Vendors
- Avoid Styrofoam and single-use plastics
- Use reusable tablecloths and signage
- Encourage visitors to access materials digitally (QR Codes or Photos)
- Reduce single-use items: Provide condiments, utensils, or napkins only on request.
- Support local products whenever possible to reduce transportation emission.
